OUR beliefs
WHAT WE BELIEVE
A brief word on what informs the teaching and mission of Faith Church.

The
Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures to be the verbally inspired Word of God, authoritative, infallible and inerrant in the original writings.

The
CHURCH
We believe that the church of Jesus Christ began at Pentecost, is a spiritual body composed of all born-again believers, and that its work is to complete itself through witnessing to lost souls. We believe the two ordinances of the Lord's Table and the water baptism of believers are designated in the Scripture as a means of testimony for the Church in this age.

God (Father, Son,
& Holy Spirit)
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, identical in nature, equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; indwells in all believers in the present age, baptizes them into the body of Christ, seals them unto the day of redemption, and that it is the duty of every believer to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

The SECOND
COMING
We believe in the "Blessed Hope," the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that this "Hope" has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of each believer.

Salvation
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam's sin, the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, became alienated from God, and is totally unable to remedy its lost condition. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. We believe that He accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice. We believe that our redemption is made sure to us by His literal physical resurrection from the dead. We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ whose precious blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins. We believe that all true believers, once saved are kept secure forever and can never be lost.

THE ETERNAL
STATE
We believe that the souls of those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation do at death immediately pass into His presence, and there remain in conscious joy until the resurrection of the glorified body at His coming, when spirit and soul and body reunited shall be associated with Him forever in the glory; but the soul of the unbelievers remain after death in constant torment until the final judgment of the great white throne at the close of the millennium, when the spirit and soul and body reunited shall be cast into the lake of fire, not to be annihilated, but to be punished with everlasting punishment from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.
